Jos Buttler Guilty Of Breaching IPL Code Of Conduct, Reprimanded
After Rajasthan Royals’ 9-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders, opener Jos Buttler was accused of breaching the IPL code of conduct. Buttler was fined 10 per cent of his match fee, the Indian Premier League statement confirmed. It is not entirely clear what Buttler’s actions earned him the penalty, but the decision may have come after the England opener reacted to his run-out earlier in the game.
“Mr. Buttler pleaded guilty to a Level 1 offense under Section 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. For Level 1 violations of the Code of Conduct, the decision of the match referee is final and binding,” the IPL release said.
Buttler combined with Yashvi Jaiswal, who was brilliant, to take the Royals to a nine-wicket win.
In terms of competition, Yashshwi Jaiswal continued his sensational run in the IPL as Yuzvendra Chahal became the all-time leading wicket-taker by scoring the fastest fifty in the tournament’s history as Rajasthan Royals won by 9 wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders. Thursday is their playoff hope.
Chahal became the IPL’s leading wicket-taker before taking 4/25 as RR restricted KKR to a paltry 149/8 at the Eden Gardens. By scoring the fastest half-century in IPL history off 13 balls, KL bettered the previous record held by Rahul and Pat Cummins (14 balls each).
With a modest chase, Jaiswal was two runs shy of a century (98 off 47 balls), a knock studded with 12 fours and 5 sixes, as RR cruised to victory in 13.1 overs.
