“I bow my head and apologize for the May 16 blast at the illegal fire plant… If the intelligence had worked properly this blast could have been prevented,” Banerjee said after handing over compensation checks to relatives. Killed and injured in blasts.
He also issued appointment letters of ‘home cards’ to each family member of those killed in the May 16 blast.
Stating that two members of the family of the main culprit, who owns the illegal factory, have been arrested, Banerjee urged villagers to inform the local police if they find such units operating.
