Mehbooba Welcomes Opening Of Sharda Devi Temple In J&K
Srinagar, March 22: PDP leader Meghbooba Mufti on Wednesday welcomed the inauguration of Sarada Devi temple near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
He also expressed hope that cross-border trade would resume.
“This is very good. We have always said that we should engage, compromise and resolve things. The opening of the Saradha temple is very good. It is something Kashmiri Pandits have been waiting for, they wanted it to be opened,” Meghaboopa told reporters here.
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Mata Sarada Devi temple in Karna sector of North Kashmir district.
The PDP chief hoped that the opening of the temple would not be limited to pilgrimage but “go beyond that”. “I hope the business conducted on Muzaffarabad Road and Rawalakot Road will be resumed,” he said, referring to the now suspended LoC trade on the Uri-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawalakot routes.
