Microsoft adding AI-powered Bing chatbot functionality to mobile, Skype
American tech giant Microsoft is now bringing its AI-based Bing chatbot to mobile and Skype, two weeks after its original launch.
First, the feature is being added to the Bing iOS and Android app, according to tech news publication GSM Arena.
The Bing Button in the app allows users invited to the preview to initiate a conversation with the chatbot. Users can tap their query or now speak out loud by tapping the microphone button.
The home page of the Microsoft Edge app, accessible on iOS and Android, offers similar capabilities. Skype users on all platforms will have access to Ping’s newly discovered intelligence, GSM Arena reported.
Users can tag and ask questions with Bing by adding them to one-on-one conversations or group chats. They can choose to receive the answer in bullet point, text, or a simplified answer in over 100 languages.
For those who don’t know, Bing with AI capabilities is Microsoft’s answer to the popular ChatGPT-style intelligent AI chatbots.
“How far away is the moon?” As straightforward as it is, it can answer your inquiries verbally and intelligently. Or as complex as “creating an itinerary for a vacation to Japan.”
According to GSM Arena, at the time, the feature was only available by invitation and was previously only accessible through the Microsoft Edge desktop browser.
