Rajasthan CM Gehlot approves Rs 37 crore for irrigation projects
Jaipur, Mar 17 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Khelat on Friday approved Rs 37 crore for various schemes to increase irrigation capacity and prevent wastage of water in canals and dams.
As part of the projects, Kakti dam in Banswara district will be renovated at a cost of Rs.10 crore. A further Rs 11.73 crore will be used to line the canal from Gajadarpura Sewage Treatment Plant to Kalak Dam in Jaipur’s Kalwad taluk, the government said in a statement.
Mora Sagar dam in Bamanwas taluk from Sawaimadhopur district will be constructed at a cost of Rs.15.03 crore.
The projects will allow for improved irrigation efficiency and reduce water wastage.
In the 2022-23 budget, Gehlot had announced Rs 800 crore worth of projects to rehabilitate dams and canals. In this, works worth Rs.611.95 crore have been approved. PTI AG SZM
