RIP Pamela Chopra: Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn remember Yash Chopra’s wife and her impact on the industry
The entire Bollywood is mourning the demise of singer, producer and screenwriter Pamela Chopra. She is the wife of late filmmaker Yash Chopra and mother of producer Aditya Chopra and actor Uday Chopra. Sanjay Dutt remembers the impact he had on the film industry while Anupam Kher recalls the precious time he spent with him. Sharing an old picture of Yash Chopra and Pamela Chopra on Twitter, Anupam Kher said, “I saw the friendship of the world, everyone broke up one by one. Goodbye Pam Chopra!! You and Yash Ji have been an integral and important part of my years in Mumbai! I will always consider your smile as one of the most beautiful gifts life has given me. I am lucky to have spent so much time with you! Om Shanti!”

Sanjay Dutt took to Twitter and wrote, “My heart is heavy with the news of Pamela Aunty’s demise. Her impact on the industry and the lives he touched will always be remembered.
Ajay Devgn also shared a picture of Pamela on Twitter and wrote, “My thoughts and prayers go out to Adi, Rani, Uday and all members of the Chopra family in their grief. RIP Pam Chopra respect ji. Om Shanti.”
Anushka Sharma shared a note from Yash Raj Films on her Instagram stories and wrote, “RIP Pamela Aunty”. The note read, “With heavy hearts, the Chopra family wishes to announce that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. His body was cremated today at 11 am in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and the family wishes to request privacy during this time of deep sadness and thought.
Pamela Chopra succumbed to pneumonia in Lilavati Hospital. “He died early today due to pneumonia with ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). He was hospitalized in the ICU for 15 days,” Dr Prahalad Prabhudesai told PTI.
According to PTI, Pamela was a major influence in his life. She has sung several songs for his films, including Surg Jothe Ki Jagmagahat in Kabi Kabi, Gude Se Jo Vada Kiya Da in Silsila and Khar Aaja Bardesi in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. He wrote the story for the 1976 film Kabi Kabi. He rose to fame as the co-screenwriter of Dil Do Baagal Hai. Apart from singing and writing, she is involved as a costume designer, producer and co-producer with her family’s production banner Yash Raj Films. He recently appeared in The Romantics.
