Russia’s Putin Secretly Living at $120M Vast Country Estate With Gymnast Girlfriend, Children: Report
Alina Kabaeva is a 39-year-old gymnast and Olympic rhythmic champion who has been in the news for a long time and has been linked to Vladimir Putin. A report by Russian intelligence news site The Project cited information about Putin secretly living at the property.
The property faces Lake Valdai in Moscow and Putin bought it through a Cyprus-based slush fund, the report said. Its construction started in 2020 and was completed in two years.
The mansion is nearly 13,000 square feet and is built entirely of wood in the style of a Russian dacha. Apart from Putin’s children, some of Alina Kabaeva’s female relatives were also spotted on the premises of the luxurious property.
Although Vladimir Putin’s bedroom is more traditional, some photos show gold chairs around a glass table and a spherical chandelier with gold leaves hanging from the ceiling.
The villa was first reported in 2021 by the group of jailed Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who said budget funds were used to build the property, the Hindustan Times reported. However, the Kremlin and Alina Kabaeva have repeatedly denied being in a relationship with Vladimir Putin.
Alina Kabaeva was appointed by Vladimir Putin to lead Russia’s National Media Committee in 2014. The position gives him an annual income of around £8.6 million.
The report quoted unnamed officials who attended Vladimir Putin’s private parties as saying they had never seen the two together but had “no doubt they had a relationship.”
