Who is ‘Ma’ Vijayapriya Nithyananda, Kailasa’s ‘permanent member to UN’

Controversial god Nityananda was in the news again recently when representatives of his sovereign state ‘US Kailash (USK)’ attended two UN panel meetings in Geneva.

‘Maa’ Vijayapriya Nityananda, a member of USK’s all-women committee and self-proclaimed “Kailasa Permanent Ambassador of America”, sought to know what steps could be taken to prevent the harassment of Nityananda and Kailash residents during one of the UN meetings. “.

Nithyananda, a self-proclaimed god, is wanted in India on rape and sexual assault charges. He claims to have founded USK in 2019, which counts “two billion Hindus” among its population, according to its website.

Who is ‘Ma’ Vijayapriya Nithyananda?

Dressed in a sari, a turban and a tikka on his forehead, Vijayapriya Nithyananda was quite impressive during UN meetings. Nithyananda confirmed on his Twitter page that his country’s permanent ambassador to the United Nations is Vijayapriya Nithyananda.

In several tweets, the self-styled god introduced all the members of the delegation with their photos.

Vijayapriya Nityananda, who lives in Washington D.C., whose Facebook profile picture shows a large tattoo of Nityananda on her upper right arm.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he completed a BSc Honors in Microbiology at the University of Manitoba. Among the honors and awards he received at the university were the ‘Dean’s Honor List’ and the ‘International Undergraduate Scholarship’. He also studied at Cambridge University.

He is fluent in English, Hindi and French, his LinkedIn profile showed.

According to the Kailash website, Vijayapriya Nithyananda is also signing contracts with companies on behalf of USK.

There are also many photos of him meeting representatives of various countries at the UN Assembly meeting on social media.

Not much is known about Nityananda’s cult and his initiation into the country.

The UN clarifies

Confirming the participation of “USK representatives” in two of its public meetings – registration open to all – the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said they were barred from distributing promotional materials. Not considered.

“Registration for such public events is open to NGOs and the general public. Anyone can submit information to treaty bodies to determine the credibility of submissions received,” an OHCHR spokesperson said when asked about their participation.
