Mumbai, Jan. 23 (IANS) After weeks of suspense, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UPD) and Prakash Ambedkar’s Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VPA) on Monday joined forces in a new ‘Shiv Shakti-Bhim Shakti’ alliance. 97th Birth Anniversary of Late Balasaheb Thackeray.
Uddhav son of Balasaheb Thackeray, Prakash Ambedkar, former Chief Minister ,grandson of Chief Architect of Indian Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar jointly announced the formal announcement of a new political alliance aimed at electrifying the state’s political atmosphere.
Uddhav Thackeray said a new partnership had been discussed with the Maha Vikas Aghadi allies comprising the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party-Sena (UBT), while Ambedkar expressed hope that the MVA would soon accept the VBA.
Uddhav Thackeray and Prakash Ambedkar said they would prove a new force to topple the Bharatiya Janata Party and work with other political parties.
In his first reaction, Balasahebhanji Shiv Sena (BSS) chief and chief minister Eknath Shinde expressed his ‘best wishes’ for the new organization, while alliance and BJP leaders trashed it, saying it would bring no change to the party.
