Sushmita Sen resumes filming for ‘Aarya’ season 3 months after heart attack
Mumbai, Apr. 25 (PTI) Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen on Tuesday resumed shooting for the third season of her acclaimed web series “Arya” in Jaipur, almost two months after she suffered a heart attack.
In an Instagram post in early March, the 47-year-old actor revealed that he underwent angioplasty at a city-based hospital following a “major” heart attack.
Sen, who plays the titular role in “Arya”, said the show’s third episode will present her character in a new, action-packed avatar as she takes control of being a fearless mother, daughter and woman.
“Arya stands for strength, and her fearless spirit is now an inescapable part of me. With Arya, I entered a new territory and channeled her fearless aura to go further into her character.
“Now that we’ve seen her game, it’s time to take things up a notch, try something we haven’t done before … I’m excited to delve into this new side of my character, especially the sword-play. Arya learns as her personality develops, and she learns her Coming into her own,” the former Miss Universe said in a statement.
The show, an official Hindi adaptation of the Dutch series “Penosa”, follows the journey of Arya, a woman who finds herself in the world of crime after her husband Tej Sareen (Chatrasoot Singh) is murdered.
In the new teaser of “Arya”, shared by the Disney+ hotstar on his official Twitter account, Chen is seen practicing sword fighting. The highly anticipated season is jointly produced by Ram Madhvani Films and Endemol Shine India.
Madhvani, host of the International Emmy-nominated drama, said Sen has shown that obstacles are opportunities in disguise and how to overcome them with grace and strength.
“As we resume our journey for Season 3, our team at Ram Madhvani Films is excited and excited to bring to our audience an exciting narrative, power-packed performances and the unstoppable Arya, our Sherni. We are committed to deliver the best we can and can’t wait to show the world what we have in store,” said the co-director.
Sen recently completed dubbing for the upcoming web series “Thali” in which she plays transgender activist Gauri Sawant. PTI RDS RDS RDS
