‘One Piece’ live-action series to premiere on Netflix soon; Here’s everything you need to know
In 2023, Netflix will release a live-action adaptation of ‘One Piece’, one of the most popular manga series. Inaki Kotoi monkey d in the show. Luffy reveals that a Netflix adaptation of the series will be released in 2023.
The first season of the series will adopt the East Blue Ark and will begin with Luffy’s pirate journey. The official Twitter account for Netflix and One Piece Live-Action released a visual teaser that read, “Adventure is here! ONE PIECE takes off in 2023.” The Netflix series stars Mackenzie as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, Taz as Skylar Sanji, and Monkey T. Variety reports that Luffy is portrayed by Yagi Godoi in the Netflix series.

The main character of ‘One Piece’ is Luffy, a young man on a quest to become the pirate king and find the fabled ‘One Piece’ treasure. McKinley Belcher III, Morgan Davies, Aidan Scott, Vincent Regan, Jeff Ward, Craig Fairbrass, Langley Kirkwood, Celeste Loots, Alexander Maniatis, Ilia Isorel’s Paulino, Chioma Umeala and Steven Ward were previously revealed as additional cast members.
According to Netflix, more actors will be revealed in the future. Toy Animation has produced 20 seasons of the ‘One Piece’ anime series, totaling over 1,000 episodes, apart from the manga which premiered in 1997. Additionally, 15 animated movies based on ‘One Piece’ have already been released.
Meanwhile, the shooting of the series has reportedly wrapped up in August 2022, and the first two episodes have been confirmed to wrap up in May 2022. While the confirmed date is yet to be announced, fans were impressed by the visual teaser.
