Piran Ditta Khan was extradited from Pakistan on Tuesday and detained at a West Yorkshire police station after arriving in England, where she was formally charged with the murder of Police Constable (PC) Sharon Beshenivsky in Bradford on November 18, 2005.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said it served a 2006 extradition warrant and authorized charges against Khan for offenses including murder, robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.
“The suspect wanted in connection with the 2005 murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky in Bradford has been extradited from Pakistan to the UK thanks to a CBS extradition and the continued hard work of prosecutors in the International Division,” said lead Crown prosecutor Joan Zakimek. For CPS.

PC Beshenivsky was shot dead in November 2005 while responding to a robbery at a travel agent in Bradford.
Five men have been convicted of her murder over the years.
Khan was arrested by Pakistani authorities in January 2020 and will stand trial for murder after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London this week.
The CPS indicated that now that the criminal proceedings against Khan are live, reporting restrictions will be in place to ensure a fair and impartial trial of court proceedings.
