‘Crime is grave’: UP govt opposes Lakhimpur Kheri case convict Ashish Mishra’s bail plea
Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh Karima Prasad told a bench comprising Justice Surya Kanth and Justice JK Maheshwari that “the crime is serious”.
The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday opposed the bail plea of Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra, one of the accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, in the Supreme Court, news agency PTI reported.
Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh Karima Prasad told a bench comprising Justice Surya Kanth and Justice JK Maheshwari that “the crime is serious”.
“This is a serious and heinous crime and will send the wrong signal to society,” he said.
