Jeremy Renner “is in critical but stable condition with injuries after suffering a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” his spokesperson told Deadline on Sunday.
Renner, a two-time Oscar nominee, is the star of the recurring Paramount+ series The Mayor of Kingstown and Marvel’s hockey series Disney+, as well as The Avengers and Captain America.
Deadline heard news of an accident and that Renner was flown to the hospital on Sunday. His spokesman said his family was now with him and he was “receiving excellent care”. We’ll let you know more when we hear it.
According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, Renner has a home near Mount Rose-Ski Tahoe, about 25 miles from Reno. A winter storm hit the region on New Year’s Day, resulting in 35,000 homes in northern Nevada’s Washoe, Carson, Douglas, Story and Leon counties without power as of this morning.
In 2010, Renner was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for The Hurt Locker, and the following year he received an Oscar for Supporting Actor for The Town.
The Mayor of Kingstown begins its second season on January 15 on Paramount+. The series was created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon and produced by 101 Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions, MTV Entertainment Studios and the Paramount Network for Bar+.
Renner previously starred in Sheridan’s 2017 drama Wind River.
