Watch: Olive Ridley Turtles On Odisha Beach For Annual Mass Nesting
Many olive ridley turtles have reached the mouth of the Rushikulya River in Odisha for their nesting. Sea turtles come to the beach every year to lay their eggs and nesting continues for several days. Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Susantha Nanda shared a video on Twitter, capturing the delightful scene.
In the clip, olive ridley turtles can be seen making their way from the ocean to the beach. Some of them can be seen using their flippers to dig nests in the sand and lay their eggs.
“Odisha welcomes its annual guests. The Olive Ridley Tortoise has started nesting in large numbers at Rushikulya Rookery. After a gap of two years, it is back in daytime. Welcome,” was written in the caption.
The video collected more than one lakh views on the platform. Many users are mesmerized by turtle nesting.
