Army helicopter Cheetah crashes in Arunachal Pradesh, search on for pilots
Around 9.15 am, the army helicopter lost contact with the control room. A search is on for those who were on board when the Leopard crashed near Bomtila in Arunachal Pradesh.
An army helicopter crashed near Pomtila in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday. The helicopter reportedly lost contact with air traffic control around 9.15 am. It is said to have crashed near Mandla, west of Pomtila. Search teams have been launched. According to reports, a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major were moving from Sengei to Missamari in a Cheetah when the Cheetah crashed near Mandalay.
“An Army Aviation Cheetah helicopter on operational flight near Pomtila, Arunachal Pradesh reportedly lost contact with ATC around 09:15 am today. It is said to have crashed near Mandla, west of Pomtila. Search teams have been launched,” Lt Col Mahendra Rawat, PRO Security Guwahati said in a statement.
