Mumbai: Former Narcotics Control Officer Sameer Wankhede, who arrested actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a drug case, has filed a report that he has gone abroad several times with his family and accumulated more than his income. by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
The Central Bureau of Investigation — which is probing him — based their First Information Report, a copy of which has been accessed by NDTV. It has been alleged that Sameer Wankhede and others demanded a bribe of ₹ 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan’s family, otherwise they threatened to implicate Aryan Khan in a drug smuggling case.

A report by the NCB’s Vigilance Department indicated that the names of Aryan Khan and his friend Arbaaz Merchant were added at the last moment and the names of some other suspects were dropped. During the search, a rolling paper was recovered from the suspect, but he was allowed to leave, the report said.

A series of lapses in Aryan Khan’s custody indicates that Sameer Wankhede deliberately compromised to give an independent witness in the Mumbai ship raid, Kiran Kosavi, an opportunity for misconduct and violation of Central Civil Services Acts.

The investigation team collected the CCTV footage from the NCP office and ransacked it. The report states that the DVR and hard copy of the night when Aryan Khan was brought to the NCP office, submitted by NCP’s Mumbai team, are different.

The report also notes that in five years — from 2017 to 2021 — Sameer Wankhede took six foreign trips with his family. The list of countries includes England, Ireland, Portugal, South Africa and the Maldives, where he stayed for 55 days.

But he claimed that he spent only Rs 8.75 lakh, which did not cover the cost of air travel.

The report also notes that Sameer Wankhede’s many expensive watches and other assets are disproportionate to his known sources of income. This includes a Rolex watch that was sold to him for much less than the MRP — Rs 17 lakh, down from Rs 22 lakh.

He owns four flats in Mumbai and 41,688 acres of land in Washim.

Sameer Wankhede told the agency that he had spent ₹ 82.8 lakh on a fifth flat in Goregaon valued at ₹ 2.45 crore.

It also mentions the flat he and his wife bought for ₹ 1.25 crore before their marriage. The source of this money remains a mystery.

Income tax returns of Mr Wankhede and his wife show their annual income of Rs 45,61,460, which does not explain how they financed their foreign trips and other assets.
